1. What types of personal protective equipment (PPE) are available?

Our PPE collection includes high-visibility clothing (waistcoats, jackets, and polo shirts), safety footwear with steel and composite toecaps (brands such as Skechers Work), chemical and weather-resistant clothing, and respiratory, eye, and hearing protection equipment. All products comply with European safety standards (EN ISO 20471 for high visibility, EN ISO 20345 for footwear).

2. How to choose the right safety footwear for my job?

The choice depends on the risks of your activity. For environments with a risk of falling objects, opt for S2 or S3 footwear with steel or composite toe caps. If you work in wet areas, choose models with WR (water resistant) or SR (slip resistant) ratings. For sectors with electrical risks, look for footwear with ESD or EH protection. Our Skechers Work shoes offer additional comfort with Slip-ins technology.

3. Is high-visibility clothing mandatory in Portugal?

Yes, in Portugal the use of high-visibility clothing is mandatory for roadworks, civil construction, airports, ports, and whenever there is a risk of being run over or colliding. The EN ISO 20471 standard defines three protection classes, with Class 3 being the most visible. Our vests and jackets comply with these standards and include reflective strips for maximum safety.

4. How often should I replace my protective equipment?

Safety footwear should be replaced when the sole shows wear, the toecap is damaged, or its waterproofing is lost (generally 6-12 months with intensive use). High-visibility clothing loses effectiveness after approximately 50 washes or when the reflective strips become damaged. Equipment such as glasses and gloves should be replaced immediately after any damage.

5. Can RAG Tailors' PPE be customised with a company logo?

Yes, we offer customisation services using embroidery and screen printing on all protective clothing, including high-visibility vests, polo shirts, and jackets. Customisation does not compromise safety certifications when applied in appropriate areas. Contact us for corporate customisation quotes with adjustable minimum order quantities.
