ESD Anti-Static Gloves

ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) gloves are protective gloves designed to dissipate electrostatic charge accumulated in the human body, preventing unwanted discharges on electronic components or flammable materials. These antistatic gloves are essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the electronics industry and in ATEX environments, protecting sensitive parts and reducing the risk of fires or explosions caused by invisible sparks. At RAG Tailors, we offer high-quality ESD gloves, ideal for ensuring a safe working environment and in compliance with European standards.

The correct choice of ESD gloves depends on the type of activity, the degree of sensitivity of the components handled and the work environment. For areas with sensitive electronic equipment, choose ESD gloves for electronics with high wear resistance and compatibility with ESD systems. If you work in clean rooms, antistatic clean room gloves with low particle release are recommended. For the automotive industry or ATEX environments, dissipative gloves must be certified according to standards such as EN 16350. RAG Tailors advises its customers to choose models that comply with the technical requirements of the sectors in which they operate, ensuring effective protection and comfort for the user.

ESD gloves and insulating gloves have different purposes. ESD gloves are dissipative gloves that prevent electrostatic discharge by channeling static electricity from the body to the ground. They are designed to protect equipment that is sensitive to static electricity, such as electronic circuits. Insulating gloves, on the other hand, are designed to protect workers from high-voltage electrical shocks by preventing electrical conduction through the glove. While ESD protective gloves are common in electronics assembly or the automotive industry, insulating gloves are used by electricians and power grid workers. At RAG Tailors, we help you find the right type of PPE for your specific needs.

To ensure the functionality of ESD gloves and their durability, it is important to follow proper maintenance practices. Avoid frequent washing or washing at high temperatures, as this can compromise the antistatic properties. Use mild soap and warm water when washing is necessary, and allow to air dry. Never use a tumble dryer or harsh products. It is also essential to store gloves away from sources of heat, humidity or electromagnetic fields. RAG Tailors recommends replacing damaged or visibly worn gloves, ensuring that the levels of protection against electrostatic discharge remain effective over time.

Anti-static gloves are widely used in industries where static electricity poses a risk. They are common in electronics assembly, computer maintenance, semiconductor production and solar panel installation. They are also essential in ATEX environments, such as laboratories and areas with flammable products. ESD gloves for electronics provide critical protection against damage to sensitive components. In the automotive industry, dissipative gloves ensure safety on electrified assembly lines. RAG Tailors offers a range of certified protective gloves for each application, ensuring safety and compliance with the most demanding standards in the industrial market.

The main European standards applicable to ESD gloves are EN 16350 and EN 1149-5. EN 16350 specifies electrostatic requirements for gloves used in explosive environments (ATEX), confirming that the materials effectively dissipate static electricity. EN 1149-5, in turn, applies to antistatic clothing and accessories in general and defines the minimum performance requirements for electrostatic protection. Compliance with these standards ensures user safety and equipment protection. RAG Tailors supplies certified ESD gloves, ensuring that its products strictly comply with European standards and offer reliability in critical environments.
