Chemical Protection Gloves

There are several types of chemical protection gloves, each designed to resist different types of substances. The most common materials include nitrile, neoprene, natural latex, PVC and butyl. For example, nitrile gloves are widely used in the pharmaceutical industry because they offer good resistance to oils, solvents and hydrocarbons. Butyl gloves are ideal for handling aggressive acids. It is important to identify the chemicals you will be working with in order to choose the right material. At RAG Tailors, you will find a wide selection of chemical-resistant industrial gloves, with different levels of protection and comfort, adapted to each professional need.

Choosing the right safety gloves depends on several factors: type of chemical, exposure time, temperature, need for manual dexterity and total or accidental contact with the substance. You should also check the applicable European standards, such as EN 374, which classifies gloves for protection against chemicals and microorganisms. RAG Tailors offers certified models that strictly comply with legal and comfort requirements, helping to protect professionals in a wide range of environments. If in doubt, we recommend consulting the 'Protective Glove Selection Guide - Chemical Risks' and contacting a RAG Tailors specialist for personalized advice.

The most chemically resistant materials vary depending on the type of substance in contact. Nitrile offers good resistance to oils, fuels and organic solvents. Butyl is resistant to ketones, aggressive acids and peroxides. Neoprene offers versatile resistance to a wide range of chemicals, including acids and solvents. PVC is ideal for less demanding tasks, being resistant to water and some detergents. RAG Tailors gloves strategically combine these materials to ensure maximum durability, protection and comfort. Knowing the type of chemical exposure is essential to determining the right material, and RAG Tailors can help you make that choice safely.

To ensure the durability and effectiveness of chemical protection gloves, it is essential to carry out proper maintenance. After use, it is recommended to remove them carefully, avoiding contact with the skin. Whenever possible, wash the gloves externally with running water and mild soap. Leave them to air dry, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Store them in a clean, dry place. Important: do not reuse disposable gloves and immediately replace any pair that is damaged or shows signs of wear. RAG Tailors' range of PPE gloves includes highly durable reusable models, ideal for demanding industrial environments.

Disposable gloves are suitable for short-term, low-risk tasks, such as the occasional handling of cleaning products in the hospital or food sector. They are usually made of nitrile, latex or vinyl. Reusable gloves are designed for prolonged use in industrial, laboratory or maintenance environments, offering greater resistance and protection. They are thicker, ergonomically comfortable and have extended chemical resistance. RAG Tailors offers both options, with models adapted to each need, ensuring effective protection and compliance with the main safety standards.

Chemical protection gloves must comply with the European standard EN ISO 374, which classifies and regulates protection against hazardous chemicals and microorganisms. EN 388 may also apply when there are combined mechanical risks, such as punctures and abrasion. The pictograms included on the glove labels indicate the type of protection offered. It is essential to purchase gloves that are duly certified to ensure not only effectiveness but also legal compliance. At RAG Tailors, all models of chemical protection gloves available are tested and certified, ensuring reliable and long-lasting protection in any professional environment.
