PPE Eye Protection Accessories

There are several types of safety glasses, each suited to different occupational risks. The most common models include glasses with impact-resistant lenses, wraparound glasses for side protection, glasses with indirect ventilation for humid environments or with particles in the air, and models with UV protection for outdoor work. At RAG Tailors we offer options in different shapes and features, including safety glasses with anti-scratch and anti-fog treatment, ensuring greater durability and comfort. The choice should take into account the specific risks of the task performed in order to ensure maximum eye protection.

To ensure the effectiveness and durability of safety glasses, regular maintenance is essential. The lenses should be cleaned daily with an appropriate solution to prevent damage and preserve visibility. It is recommended to store the glasses in protective cases or bags when not in use, to avoid scratches and deformations. RAG Tailors recommends always following the manufacturer's instructions and carrying out frequent visual inspections to detect signs of wear. Well-maintained visual PPE not only maintains comfort during use, but also ensures adequate eye protection in all work situations.

The choice of the ideal protective eyewear depends on the type of risk associated with the job performed. For work involving physical impact, glasses with shock-resistant lenses should be chosen, while in environments involving chemical products, models with full sealing are recommended. Professionals who work outdoors should opt for glasses with UV protection. RAG Tailors offers versatile solutions for different sectors, always focusing on compliance with safety standards. Choosing the right equipment not only increases eye protection, but also improves comfort and efficiency when performing tasks.

Eye protection accessories should be replaced whenever there are signs of wear, scratches on the lenses, loss of transparency, deformation or breakage of the structural elements. Any damage may compromise eye protection and reduce the effectiveness of the PPE. Even if visually intact, it is advisable to check the accessories periodically, especially if they are used frequently. RAG Tailors recommends following a regular inspection plan as part of the company's safety policy, ensuring that the equipment maintains the performance and protection standards required for the job.

The main difference between safety visors and eye protection glasses is the coverage area. Visors offer more comprehensive facial protection, covering not only the eyes but also the entire face, and are ideal for operations with greater risk of projections, chemicals or sparks. Safety glasses, on the other hand, protect only the eyes and are more suitable for precise and lower-risk work. Both can be used simultaneously, depending on the nature of the task. RAG Tailors offers both models, always with compliance certifications and adjustable options for maximum comfort and effectiveness.

PPE eye protection accessories must meet strict requirements defined by European standards that ensure their effectiveness and safety. EN 166 is the main regulation that specifies technical requirements, including impact resistance, optical quality, mechanical properties and particle protection. There are also specific standards such as EN 170 for UV protection and EN 172 for bright light. All eye protection products available at RAG Tailors are certified and comply with these safety standards, ensuring a level of protection in accordance with the legal and technical requirements applicable to each professional role.

Correctly fitting a safety visor is crucial to ensuring effective protection and comfort throughout the entire period of use. Start by positioning the visor centrally in front of the face, in line with the eyes. The adjustable headgear or strap should be adjusted so that the visor remains firmly in place without causing discomfort. Make sure there are no gaps between the forehead and the support, and that the visor fully covers the face. At RAG Tailors, the models available include ergonomic adjustments and lightweight materials, allowing for an individualized adaptation that does not compromise the user’s mobility or peripheral vision.
