Safety Shoes

PPE footwear is essential to ensure foot protection against physical, chemical and mechanical risks in the workplace. Proper use can prevent accidents such as falling heavy objects, slipping, electric shocks or contact with hazardous substances. Furthermore, the use of safety footwear is mandatory in many sectors, as provided for in legislation on Personal Protective Equipment. Ensuring employee safety prevents injuries and promotes a healthier and more productive working environment. RAG Tailors offers a range of certified work shoes, designed to meet the most demanding professional conditions.

To choose suitable safety shoes, it is essential to consider the type of professional activity, the associated risks and the working environment (wet, dry, slippery, etc.). The main criteria to evaluate include the material, the type of sole, the impact resistance, the presence of a steel or composite toe cap and whether the footwear is breathable or waterproof. Professions in the construction, logistics or food industry, for example, require footwear with specific characteristics. RAG Tailors helps you select the ideal models through a technical catalogue and a team specializing in PPE footwear to ensure the best protection and comfort during work.

The S1, S2 and S3 classifications refer to the EN ISO 20345 technical standards, which define the levels of protection provided by protective footwear. S1 shoes have a safety toecap and are anti-electrostatic, absorb energy in the heel, but are not water resistant. S2 shoes include all the features of S1 and add resistance to water penetration. S3 shoes, in addition to the previous specifications, have a puncture-resistant sole and a non-slip tread, making them ideal for outdoor environments and extreme conditions. RAG Tailors offers all these variants, allowing each professional to find the model best suited to their needs.

Keeping your safety shoes in good condition is essential to prolong their lifespan and ensure their effectiveness. After each use, you should clean your shoes with a damp cloth and leave them to dry naturally, away from direct heat sources. It is important to regularly check for signs of wear, particularly on the sole and safety toe cap. It is also recommended to alternate between two pairs to allow them to dry completely between uses. RAG Tailors recommends always following the manufacturer's instructions and offers models with technical materials that facilitate daily maintenance and increase comfort during long working hours.

There are several types of safety footwear, each adapted to different professional functions. The main types include PPE shoes with steel toecaps for impact protection, waterproof boots for wet environments, non-slip shoes for kitchens and hospitality, and electroprotective footwear used by electricians. The models also vary between low, medium or boots, depending on the level of protection required. The choice should reflect the type of risk present in the workplace. RAG Tailors provides a wide range of technical models, ideal for sectors such as construction, industry, logistics, health and catering, promoting maximum safety with comfort.

Protective footwear must comply with the European standard EN ISO 20345, which establishes the minimum safety requirements for professional footwear. This standard includes tests for impact resistance, perforation, sole grip, anti-electrostatic properties, among others. Other additional certifications may include resistance to heat, water or chemicals, depending on the specific function. Working with certified footwear guarantees legal compliance and effective worker protection. At RAG Tailors, all PPE footwear models are duly certified and tested, ensuring that they meet the highest safety standards in the professional context.
