Padded Work Gilets PPE

PPE padded vests are designed to provide thermal insulation, comfort and water resistance, protecting the wearer from cold, wind and rain. Common features include thermal lining, waterproof or water-resistant fabrics, high-quality zips, functional pockets and ergonomic design for easy mobility. Some models are equipped with reflective strips to ensure high visibility in low-light environments. RAG Tailors garments have been carefully developed to withstand the demands of the most rigorous professional environments, with a focus on safety and durability.

Padded vests for protection against bad weather are widely used in outdoor activities or in environments subject to variations in temperature and humidity. Sectors such as construction, transport, logistics, agriculture, industrial maintenance and municipal services are some examples where the use of this type of PPE is recurrent. In these contexts, the padded PPE vest contributes significantly to the thermal comfort and protection of the worker, and is often a mandatory item. RAG Tailors offers models adapted to the specificities of these sectors, ensuring effective protection even in adverse conditions.

High visibility padded vests combine thermal insulation and visual safety, making them ideal for low-light environments or in areas with vehicle and machinery traffic. The fluorescent material and reflective stripes increase worker visibility, reducing the risk of accidents. These models are particularly recommended for construction professionals, logistics operators and urban maintenance. RAG Tailors offers certified high visibility options, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and increasing user safety in all weather conditions.

Proper maintenance of a PPE padded vest is essential to preserve its thermal and waterproof properties. It is recommended to always follow the instructions on the label, wash at moderate temperatures and avoid the use of bleach or abrasive products. It is not advisable to dry the garment in a tumble dryer, unless indicated by the manufacturer. Storing it in a dry and ventilated place helps to preserve the materials. RAG Tailors vests are made from resistant and easy-to-maintain fabrics, ensuring long durability when well cared for, even with intensive use.

Unlike other types of cold-weather workwear, waterproof thermal vests offer freedom of movement by keeping your arms free, making them ideal for tasks that require mobility. These vests have insulating padding, water and wind protection, and can be worn as an outer or mid layer. In comparison, jackets can be warmer, but they limit flexibility. The choice between a vest or other type of clothing depends on the work environment and specific needs. RAG Tailors offers both options, with high technical performance adapted to different adverse weather conditions.

Padded vests for PPE must comply with European safety standards such as EN ISO 13688 (general requirements for protective clothing) and EN 343, which specifies waterproofing and breathability standards for clothing used in inclement weather. If the vest is high visibility, it must comply with EN ISO 20471. All RAG Tailors professional models are carefully selected and manufactured in accordance with these standards, ensuring reliable protection and performance in demanding industrial and outdoor environments.

Choosing the right size for a PPE padded vest is essential to ensure comfort, mobility and effective thermal protection. It is recommended to consult the size chart provided by the manufacturer and consider wearing it over other layers of clothing. There should be enough room for movement, without the vest being too loose. RAG Tailors offers a detailed size guide and expert support to help you make the right choice.
