A perfect fit is essential: stockings that are too tight can be harmful and those that are too loose will not provide the necessary compression.

The ideal materials for health stockings combine elasticity, breathability and durability. The most common blends include elastane or lycra (for elasticity and compression), nylon (for strength), cotton (for comfort and absorption) and technical microfibres (for moisture management). Antibacterial materials such as silver or copper are excellent for preventing odours and infections. Avoid exposing them to oils, creams or perfumes that can damage the fabric.
